Our mobile home moving services at a glance
Mobile home moving services from trailer house movers cover five jobs: moving a single-wide, moving a double-wide, setup and tie-down, permits and escorts, and storage. Pick a service to jump to it, or ask for one quote that covers the whole move.

Single-wide mobile home moving
A single-wide is one section, so it moves on one trip and is the quickest home to schedule. Our trailer house movers check the route, get the permits and haul the home to its new site.
- Pickup and transport of the whole home
- Route planning and oversize-load permits
- Setup at the new site if you want it
- Quote in writing before the move
$3,500 to $6,500
Typical cost for a move of about an hour.
Timing: most single-wides move within 24 hours.
Distance, route, permits and site work change the final price.
Double-wide mobile home moving
A double-wide is two sections that are moved separately and joined again at the new site. That takes more equipment, more permits and more setup, so plan a little more time.
- Each section transported on its own
- Permits and escorts planned for both loads
- Sections set, joined and leveled at the new site
- Quote in writing before the move
$7,500 to $13,500
Typical cost for a move of about an hour.
Timing: most double-wides move within 24 to 48 hours.
Triple-wides and modular homes are quoted case by case.
Mobile home setup and tie-down
A move is not finished when the home arrives. Setup puts the home on a stable foundation so it stays level and safe.
- Blocking and leveling
- Tie-down and anchoring
- Utility hookups: water, electric, gas and sewer
- Skirting around the base
Site preparation such as clearing a lot is priced separately from the move.
Tell us in the quote form what is already in place at the new site, and we will quote the setup with the move.
Use a licensed professional for gas and electric connections.
Mobile home permits and escorts
Moving a mobile home on public roads usually needs oversize-load permits, and every state sets its own rules and fees. We plan the route and get the permits your route requires, so you do not have to chase each state office.
- Permits for each state the home passes through
- Route planning around bridges, low clearances and tight turns
- Escorts arranged where a state requires them
- Help with the paperwork your county needs
Read more: our mobile home permits guide explains what each move needs.
Check your state transportation department for current rules and fees.
Mobile home storage
If your new site is not ready on moving day, we can arrange secure temporary storage so the move does not have to wait.
- Short-term storage between sites
- Home stays secured until the site is ready
- Delivery to the new site when you are ready
Storage is quoted with the move. Add a note in the quote form if you need it, with the dates you expect.

What changes the price of a mobile home move
A single-wide typically costs $3,500 to $6,500 to move, and a double-wide $7,500 to $13,500, for a move of about an hour. Four things change the price.
- Size and type. A double-wide, triple-wide or modular home costs more than a single-wide.
- Distance. Longer routes mean more driving time, fuel and escorts.
- Route and permits. Each state sets its own permit rules and fees, and tight roads can add cost.
- Site preparation and setup. Clearing a lot, blocking, hookups and skirting are priced separately.
